The National Institute of Mental Health publishes a website that provides an exceptional overview of ADHD. We recommend that all persons who think they or their child may be struggling with ADHD review this information.
ADHD in Adults
Many adults with symptoms were never diagnosed with ADHD when they were a child because the symptoms were overlooked or ‘missed’ by parents or teachers. Most who were diagnosed were told that they would ‘outgrow’ ADHD once they reached adulthood, which is simply untrue as studies estimate that up to 70% of childhood cases of ADHD persist into the adult years.
